3.18.10 ~ more teeth

We're officially teething. We now have three teeth between the girls... Brelynn's first tooth poked through today and so did Avery's second one. Camille's still toothless, but it shouldn't be long until she joins the tooth club.

3.16.10 ~ 8 1/2 months already

It's amazing, but these girls just keep growing and learning! They love to eat. Really, just about anything I put in front of them they'll eat now. In addition to all the purees, now they'll eat mashed up bananas, avocados, and pears. They love meltable foods like the puffs, wagon wheels, and even Starbucks pumpkin scones (yep, starting them off early). Everyone is now rolling from back to belly and belly to back (yay, Brelynn just did it this morning for the first time). They are learning peek-a-boo and they love to stand on the couch and look out the window at the cars going by. Camille has figured out how to 'crawl' backwards and has made it across the room a few times now. She thinks that coughs, burps, and toots from her sisters are hysterical and laughs almost every time they occur. Brelynn is starting to clap her hands which will eventually turn into pat-a-cake :)

We saw the nutritionist last week and the girls really are doing well for their age. Each scale is different, but here's what we got at nutrition. When adjusted for prematurity (compared to babies that are 6 months, 2 weeks) they were as follows:
Avery- 14 lb, 13 oz (10-25%ile), 25 1/2" (25-50%ile), head 43 1/2 cm (50-75%ile)
Brelynn- 16 lb, 8 oz (50-75%ile), 26 1/4" (50-75%ile), head 45 cm (90-97%ile)
Camille- 13 lb, 10 oz (10%ile), 25 1/4" (10-25%ile), head 43 1/2 cm (50-75%ile)

3.9.10 ~ rolling over

I mostly post updates to keep friends and family informed about the girls and to share pictures of them, but I also want this to serve as a makeshift baby book to help me record dates, milestones, and events as they happen. It is much quicker for me to post a short little note than to find their baby books and in my nicest handwriting update it. So, that being said here's another first.

Avery rolled over from her back to her tummy today. I put her on her back to play with toys and went upstairs to make their lunchtime bottles. When I came back she was on her tummy. Way to go, Avery!

I think Camille rolled from her back to her tummy, too. I can't confirm this yet because when I got downstairs she appeared to be on her tummy and as soon as she heard me she rolled onto her back. So, either she rolled and then rolled back or she had almost rolled but still had her arm under her (basically rolling to her side and rotating her hips). We'll play more this afternoon to see if they'll do it again.

Don't worry, Brelynn's getting close, too :)

3.7.10 ~ Springtime

We had a gorgeous day here and took the girls outside for a little fun in the sun. Okay, we just did some gardening while they sat in the grass, but Dan got some great pictures of them.

3.3.10 ~ First tooth

Avery got her first little tooth to poke through today! She won't hold still enough to get a picture, but we'll post some once it's in a little more and you can see it better.

2.29.10 ~ 8 months

the time is flying by. The girls are already 8 months old and they're getting so big. We had to move Brelynn up into a bigger clothing size (now 6-9 months) just this week. Other updates on the girls...

Avery learned how to play peek-a-boo. She can feed herself a rice cracker now and loves them! She's fully healed after her kidney infection and back to her old self again. So glad that's behind us.

Brelynn is talking up a storm. She's getting close to cutting her first tooth and doesn't hate tummy time anymore. She'll eat rice crackers if we feed them to her, and she'll try to feed herself but gets frustrated.

Camille will eat a little of the rice cracker but still isn't sure what to think of this just yet. She's starting to talk more and will consistently roll from her tummy to her back now. She's still doing great at growing hair on the top of her head. Eventually she'll grow hair on the sides, right?

Oh, and the big news is that we finally got a video camera. I've been taking videos of the girls, now I just need to figure out how to post them. You'll have to settle for some pictures instead.

2.22.10 ~ a few funnies

I just had to post these quickly so I don't forget. The girls were really funny tonight. Dan was playing with all three downstairs while I was getting their bedtime bottles ready. When I went downstairs they were all laying on the floor under a big blanket and someone was *ahem* a little gassy. Here's how the conversation went:
Dan: Brelynn, was that you? Who did that?
Brelynn (as clearly as she has ever spoken): da da.
So...I guess we have a little tattle tale on our hands :) Priceless.

the other funny thing was as we were changing them, Dan was trying to get Camille to talk to him. He was singing different notes (kinda like scales) and Camille was singing back, but everytime he got to a certain note Avery would start crying. We kept testing the theory and she eventually just started screaming everytime Dan sang :) Guess she doesn't like his singing! I didn't want to test it because he's a better singer than I am. We also found out this weekend that she is scared of grass. Guess we'll be spending more time playing in the grass in the coming weeks.
